Machine sewing

If you have a sewing machine gathering dust, been gifted one or just purchased one and are wondering what to do with it / what else you need, you are in the right place! Alongside your sewing machine you will need various sewing implements but these will differ slightly depending on what you are sewing. Basic accessories include: machine needles, thread, measuring tape, pins, chalk, clips, scissors of different sizes, needle threader, pin cushion and bobbins.

If you have never sewn before or are not a very confident sewer, you would benefit from booking our get to know your sewing machine course. We can provide tuition online or in person and will make sure that you are competent at threading your machine, understanding the controls / display, starting, finishing, sewing in a straight line and turning a corner. We will also explain your sewing machine accessories and advise you on care of your machine. Alternatively, you can find all this information on YouTube - it depends how you learn best.
